Pathways to Healthy Sexuality

[/su_column]

Pathways to Healthy Sexuality, by psychologist and licensed sex offender treatment provider Matthew Ferrara, guides sex offenders participating in outpatient or inpatient treatment into rebuilding their lives and changing their desires. This revolutionary manual uses both cognitive therapy and cutting-edge treatments to lead the offender through a series of therapeutic experiences designed to reduce the chance of another sexual offense. Upbeat and positive, Pathways to Healthy Sexuality is designed to give offenders confidence and self-respect, bringing them even closer to their goal of “No More Victims.”

This workbook was created in 1989 and it has undergone even revisions over the decades since its release. In its current form, Pathways incorporates traditional therapy assignments such as thought journal, triple column technique and Offense Summary Worksheet. Pathways also contains new assignments based upon the pathways concept introduced by Ward & Hudson. These assignments include Goal Activation, Goal Cancelation, and Getting Off My Pathway.

Pathways also includes a checklist for tracking assignment completion, which can dovetail with treatment planning. It is also possible to use the test at the end of the workbook to determine how much knowledge clients have retained.
